My aunts husband does every year arrange a halloween party where all families in our small neighbourhood is invited. It is usually filled with interesting foods, snacks, music and a haunted tractor ride in the forest! Even though I'm the only one my age (as the others are either 5 years younger or 20 years older than me) I still enjoy dressing up and have a fun time!
I wouldn't argue that I'm a person that easily get stressed, I usually take things as they come and don't spend much time dwelling on things I can't do anything about. However, now when I'm doing my third year in the IB, even I can feel that it is too much at times. With me, not being used to feeling stressed and the symptoms that comes with it I try to distance myself from what is making me stressed and focusing on things that calms me down.
For me to get things done I first have to calm my brain down and I feel that there is no better place to do that for me than in the stable. The riding school I'm riding at is like a second home for me, I've been there at least once a week since I was around 10 years old. That's nearly nine years now. Being surrounded by these magnificent animals and doing the chores that needs to be done to keep them alive and well makes me de-stress. I feel like doing something outside of school that has nothing to do with what I'm currently doing for my future, but only focusing on what's in the moment gives me a better perspective of what's really important.
Lovely day with lovely food and company is what makes a great midsummer. My family and I kept the long lived tradition we have with another family and spent the evening together with them. During the night we ate very traditional Swedish midsummer dishes like herring, boiled potatoes and of course a strawberry cake for dessert. Around midnight we also had a round of "kubb" family vs. family which, as usual, the other family won.. But no sad faces here no no.
All in all it was a very lovely night even though the weather was a bit back and fourth with rain pouring down one second and then wind the rest of the time. It was nice neither the less!!
I think it's really nice to have days like this, when you just get out in the forest and even though everything don't go as planned you still have a great time. It gives you some time to relax from the everyday life and enjoy the nature and the company of your family!
So this Tuesday was my 18th birthday. I don't really know how to feel about that. For a while I've had a bit of a crisis about me not having my life together (like my driving license, bank stuff and washing my clothes?!?). I do however realize now that not so much have changed. Yes I do have to fix my driving lessons and learn to wash my clothes, but I did actually go to the bank to day (by myself!!) to get my new bank card. Adult points to me!
I and my 80 year old friends celebrated this very exciting day by going to a cute little café in the old town. The interior was absolutely adorable and reminded me lots about really old Swedish houses. We spent around two hours there chatting away about everything. I had a really nice time but I had to leave to have dinner with my parent around half six which also was very lovely. It was all in all a very nice 18th birthday!

As it is the last day of the year, I tend to try and look back at the year which has gone and see what has been good and what has been less good. 2016, as we all know, have not been looked upon as a positive year in the bigger picture. But if I look just at myself, 2016 has been full of learning experiences for me. I have learned a lot about myself this year but also about people and the world around me. I have started to do more of the things I love, but also try to look at the things I don't love doing from another perspective. Everything you do can't be something you enjoy doing but you can always learn from these things, and I enjoy learning.
In 2017 I'm gonna try to focus on doing the things I love and not stress over things I can't do anything about. This does not mean that I'm not going to care but that I'm not going to let it get to me. I'm also gonna lay more time and thought in to doing the things I love and make it the best I can do.
These pictures are from the past week this Christmas break where I spend the majority of my time in the stable, where I love to be. It has given me a happy and calming, but still challenging last week of the year.
Happy New Year from me, and I'll see you in 2017.

Last weekend me and some of my friends had a little pancake party. We met up at one of our friends, who have her own apartment, and went from there and bought all our ingredients for the pancakes.
Home again we started to make the pancake batter and prepare the toppings with we've decided were bananas, Nutella and cream (which we had to whip by hand fyi). Non of us where pros in pancake flipping so we forced Melina to do it, even thought the pancakes looked more of a mountain than anything else when we were sone I thought she did a good job anyway and they tasted amazing.
After we had stuffed ourself full of pancakes we basically just laid on Emma's (the one with the apartment) sofa and talked about everything between heaven and earth. I think we talked about all the word problems big as small. And yes as you can imagine we were up until ridiculously late, I think the time were around 4AM when we finally decided to go to sleep. We, or at least I, had a really good time and wouldn't mind doing it again.

Just throwing in a picture of the amazing weather here in the end.
And just like that, another new year. 2015 has been eventful with its ups and downs but I welcome 2016 with open arms.
In or family we have a tradition together with another family were we celebrate New Years and Midsummer (a Swedish tradition) at each others. Midsummer at us and New Years et theirs. We usually eat good food and together, chat up about thinks we have been missing and play a kinds of boardgames. At midnight we walk out on the street and watch the fireworks, we usually don't shoot any ourselves but we enjoy the neighbours instead!
Sadly enough I did not have time to take picture of my outfit or makeup because I come directly home from the stable and had about half an hour to make myself ready to go! Another time thought, I promise!
This Christmas me and my family went to my grandparents house, as we always do, to celebrate Christmas together with one part of my mom's side of the family. We got there around 1PM and begun the night by drinking some mulled wine, or soda for the kids who are not that fond of the mulled wine.
The Christmas dinner was served around 2PM. It was my first year with a vegetarian christmas dinner, and to be honest it wasn't that bad. We had done some research and come up with some pretty good alternatives. At 3PM it was time for the yearly Donald Duck christmas special and all the children where sat in the sofa knowing that after this Santa with all the christmas presents would show up. And he sure did, I got some presents and I'm very happy and grateful for them all. After the present giving and receiving was it just the porridge left and then a lot of talking from the grown ups about things that does not interest me nor the children. Therefor we went home quite early, but it was nice catching up with some of my family members that I don't see that often and spend some time with them!
This weekend my family and I had some christmas baking planed. We were at our house where we ate and chatted up on things that hade happened since we last saw each other.
The only thing we really bake were gingerbread in different shapes and sizes and some traditional Swedish 'saffrans bullar' or 'lussekatter', which basically is buns with saffron in also these in all kinds of shapes and sizes.
This Sunday me and my friend, Melina, decided to do our french homework with basically was to bake something and film it while talking about it in french. I was supposed to bake blueberry muffins, but because my memory is as long as a goldfish's I forgot the blueberry's at home so I ended up just baking vanilla muffins. Melina baked chess square cookies. We both do not enjoy the baking process but we still had a really good time.
After we we were done baking and recording the videos we decided to have a sleep over and ended up watching Twilight. I haven't seen it in a while and to be honest I laughed trough most of it.
Last night we celebrated my grandmas 70's birthday. We did so by having a really nice dinner at the cruise Bateaux Dubai. The food was delicious and so was the atmosphere. I ordered an Arabic Mezze for starter, Poached Smoked Egg with Porcini Mushroom for the main course and for dessert a Mango-Yoghurt Cheese Cake. Everybody did also get a Cauliflower Soup before the starter which also was delicious.

At the end of the evening the staff on the boat surprised my grandma by singing happy birthday and giving her a mini cake wish was very sweet of them.
All in all was it a lovely evening spent with my family on a lovely boat with delicious food.
When I were at Dubai Mall i perched a few things. I didn't buy so many things, main reason is that everything is very expensive here. With this in mind I only went in to shops that we don't have at home.
At Bath & Body Works I bought three christmas/winter scented candles because why not.
The Twisted Peppermint smells exactly as you can imagine. It smells strongly of peppermint with a little hint of vanilla.
Fresh Sparkling Snow smells a bit fruity and very fresh.
To be honest, I have never smelt cranberry or thought of the smell but according to me this candle smells like fruit and warmth.
As you may notice I'm more in to fresh and light scented candles then the ones who smells kind of 'heavy'.
This lipstick is a pinky nude wich I have looked for for a very long time now but never found one that fits me. Even thought I bought this in a hurry, and basically just picked it up and bought it, I really like it. It doesn't give lots of colour but it's still noticeable.
